Affordable Health Care Act

Health care coverage should not be a partisan issue. Without a change in the presidency, Republicans like my opponent will achieve their goal of destroying the Affordable Care Act. Millions of Americans will lose their health care coverage. The consequences for people's health care will be catastrophic. This is one of the many reasons we need to elect Democrats like myself and Joe Biden this fall.

My opponent has voted dozens of times to repeal the Act. In doing so, he voted to take away insurance protections for people with pre-existing conditions. In the age of COVID-19, we cannot let this happen.

Quentin Potter will work with Joe Biden and others to protect and strengthen the Act.

“We need to strengthen the Affordable Care Act by reversing the many efforts to undermine it and by making it even more affordable by stopping the rapid increases in health care costs. This must be among the highest priorities.”
- Quentin Potter

Quentin has worked on health care issues for a significant part of his career and grasps the need to take steps to make it more affordable. He will work with Joe Biden and others to:

  • Expand coverage allowed under the Affordable Care Act and create an affordable option for people to buy coverage through Medicare or other public options.

  • Require the federal government to negotiate with drug companies to lower the cost of prescription drugs.

  • Expand community care options for seniors so they can stay in their homes.

  • Strengthen medicare.

    • People have paid into Medicare over their working lifetime - contributing paycheck after paycheck - and when they retire, they have earned and deserve quality and affordable heath care coverage.

  • Quentin will oppose proposals that would reduce funding for Medicare.
